My involvement in
the world of purebred dogs began in the early 80ís with the
introduction of two Doberman puppies to our family. One of
those was a lovely red female who became the foundation of a
successful breeding program that produced over 100 champions
in many countries under both the Ravenhill and Westarr
prefixes. After almost 20 years since I produced a litter of
Dobermans, I have recently delved back into developing a
breeding program, not with Dobermans however, but with a
rare breed in Canada, the Drever.
I learned about
dogs from many different venues. As an owner handler I
learned the art of presentation and training and then as a
breeder I learned what it took to produce top quality dogs
for both the show ring and as beloved pets.
As with many
things, one leads to another and handling became my
profession. Now with almost 30 years of experience behind
me, I am still enjoying the world that has become so much a
part of me.
Recently my husband
Kerry and I purchased a beautiful property in the eastern
part of the Fraser Valley. The welcoming city of Chilliwack
became our home in July 2012. We have built and established
a brand new licensed boarding kennel, so in addition to
handling we are able to offer our clients boarding services.
Kerry works as a
millwright at a local food processing company. He assists me
when he can at shows and has become a very capable assistant
despite his fairly recent introduction into the world of
